Dr. Ron’s Video Blitz

Welcome Back to Dr. Ron’s Blog

Welcome back to my blog. We have been redesigning the blog for the last few weeks, and making a series of videos (see below). Video subjects include my “primitive” diet, Blue Ice fermented Cod Liver Oil, additive-free supplements and magnesium stearate, organs and glands, Weston Price, my take on the history of nutrition from the 1950s to the present, and much more. We’ve even included “Our Farm Mascot,” in which our feline friend “Mr. Gree” gets into the Organ Delight and feasts! We hope you’ll enjoy.
My original description of my diet from our original blog is in the Archives.

    Dr. Ron,
For the past 2-3 years I’ve been eating according to the dietary principles of the WAPF, and more recently I’ve adopted the type diet that you recommend in your blog. It haS been working very well for me. One thing I’ve noticed since I’ve been eating this way is that I rarely ever get sick, and when I do it only seems to be when I deviate, even a bit, from this type of dIET (Quality of sleep also seems to be a factor). For instance, last time I got sick was a few months ago after I ate out at a restaraunt which I very rarely do anymore. It was just one meal so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to pig out a bit on foods that I wouldn’t normally touch. Very Soon after I developed a cold which lasted for about a week. I’m convinced that deviating from my normally healthy diet even for this one meal allowed me to catch a bug that I would not have otherwise caught.
I am curious if this is something you’ve observed in your patients or from personal experience?

Great question, David. What happened to you is typical. Used to happen to me back when I’d eat the wrong stuff. But you may have caught that bug anyway.

I’m not sure why this happens. But I theorize that your body wants to get rid of any food it does not really want quickly, rather than have it do deeper damage. The cold is a quick detox, and perhaps it is doing some good, helping build immunity – I don’t know. I suggest you simply accept the message the universe has sent and get over pigging out.

    Dr. Ron,
I have two issues Id like your advice on: First, my daughters and myself are all on synthroid for low thyroid. One has the autoimmune version..can you recommend a supplement to either replace or enhance the synthroid?
My other issue is about my dog. She is about 9 and has Cushings disease. I am not currently giving her any or the chemo drugs for it, but instead have tried the popular herbal blend (cant recall the name right now) and am giving her some of my cod liver/butter blend, like 1/4 teas a day (she’s 40 lbs) as well as PS, magnolia bark, and linolic acid and coq10. Can you recommend something more effective to treat this?
I would also like to know what we should do if raw milk is not available in our area? Im in Alabama and there’s nothing close.
    Thanks so much!

  • admin:

Cindy, please read about Sea Vegetables Plus, Iodine Complex, and Thyroid capsules on our website. Together these nutrients may help you accomplish your goals in regards the thyroid problems. Diet is critical also.

For your dog, I recommend cod liver oil and raw liver/meat, in addition to the things you are doing.

Raw milk cheeses from quality grassfed milk and butter are the dairy foods I recommend if no raw milk is available.

Hi, My neighbor’s young son (4 years old) has had a low grade fever for a month and was diagnosed with “systemic Juvenile idiopathic arthritis”. He wakes up with cold sweats in the night even with the “medicine” they’re giving him. the “idiopathic” term is an admission that they dont really have a clue. The child eats a lot of junk food, doesnt take much in the way of vitamin supplements (I asked my wife to offer some extra vitamin C and the reply was that they give him a typical Children’s multivitamin), and he consumes no fermented food to my knowledge.

Do you have experience treating juvenile arthritis?

I’ll suggest to his parents that they request a consultation, but I think they would be a hard sell to take a lot of expensive supplements and Traditional foods (unprocessed milk, fermented foods, organs and glands, CLO, etc.) if their doctor did not prescribe them.

    Concerned.

Jim, these problems are nutritional in nature and respond very well to a careful program; I have helped many children with such issues. But there is little you can do; the parents must be ready and willing.
